Carley
Bichon/Lhasa ?
Female/spayed/shots current
App. 10-12 months old
13 lbs
Carley came from an Idaho Shelter as a stray, she was classified as a Lhasa
mix...she absolutely has the Lhasa or Shih Tzu eyes, but she does not possess
any of the typical Lhasa traits, except that she knows her own little mind, and
has no trouble telling off any dog. She is very playful, will jump from
the ground right into your arms, is a wiggly, kissy, happy girl. If
you look below at Cruiser, she has taken him on, as if he were her own baby,
protecting him, playing with him, running to him if he cries..a great baby
sitter:-)

and that may also be why she sometimes gets testy with the older adult
dogs, if she thinks someone may be a threat to the baby, she is there to protect
him, and yet she is only a baby herself.
Possibly best if another dog in the home, not be an alpha, with the right dog
she will play her heart out.
Carley has a wonderful home in Lynnwood, Wa. joining an adorable lil Shih
Tzu, and Louie the Lhasa

(Adopted May 13/06)
Cruiser (nka Winston)
Toy Poodle
Now neutered/shots current
(B.D. Feb. 28/06)
3.5 lbs (now)
What can you say about an outgoing, happy, fun loving lil puppy like Cruiser,
except he cruises right into your heart immediately. He is a happy happy
puppy.
He will remain in foster care until he is able to be neutered, but I would
suggest if interested to email for application..cause if you love toy poodles,
you will not find a more adorable baby...he is doing so well in foster care,
finding friends to play with and cuddle...
Winston is having a blast with his new Mom and Dad, who adore their new lil
companion, happily residing in Victoria, B.C. Canada

Harris
Griffon/poodle
Male/neutered/shots current
App. 3 years old
10 lbs
Now isn't he a little Ewok looking fellow, I was told this is his mix, but to be
honest, I don't know...he is a non shedding lil boy, and I think the poodle part
is right.
Harris is not for someone who will let him rule, he likes to do that, but as
soon as he knows that he needs to behave, no problems. So if you are
someone that will let a doggie walk all over you, don't apply. He needs
someone who lets him know, with firmness and love, he has to behave...he loves
to go for walks, good in the car, fine with the resident dogs, and can be a real
cuddlier and lover.
Adult home only
This boy is so lucky to be adopted by an exceptional family, who have room in
their home and heart for the lil misfits..he had now joined a wonderful dog
family, and one of his new brothers is Ollie

(Adopted May 5/06)
Martini
Pomeranian/Pekinese
Male/neutered/shots current
App. 18 months old
Martini
is a shy boy and at first would only hide. Now he has decided he likes being a
pet and comes running for treats and pets. As he has become more comfortable his
impish personality has come out. He has taken over a dog bed that is big enough
for a Great Dane it has become HIS. He will only share it with Wookie
and that only occasionally. When all the dogs got new chews, Martini somehow
managed to steal 7 of them and hide them all in his bed. Martini loves to be
cuddled when you go pick him up but is still a little shy about coming and
asking.
Wookie
and Martini both were living outside before coming
into foster care. When they first came into care
they were very shy. They took up residence in a big crate and took quite a while
to come out of their little hidey hole. Wookie
emerged first and soon became comfortable running around the house and
especially the yard. Martini took longer to come out but finally followed.
Because they were living outside, their house training is not perfect. They do
seem to be paper trained and will do pretty well going on newspaper. They do
fine with the other dogs and definitely both need to go to homes with another
dog if they are not placed together. Because these boys are shy they need to go
adult homes or homes with only older children.
Martini
has great new parents, and a new brother

Yorkshire Terrier X
Female/spayed/shots current
1.5 years old
9 lbs
I am a very loving and love to be cuddled, petted and to sleep in bed with
you. I love squeaky toys, chews and balls. I am fearful of men (I
was abused by one) but will warm up in time. I like to watch TV with my
special person. If you get me outside every few hours, I do fine with
housetraining. I do also love to play with the resident dogs.
Adult home only
Sadie has a very loving home, with another lil Yorkie mix, residing in Lacey, WA
(Adopted June 16/06)
Colby
Cocker Spaniel
Male neutered/shots current
5 months old
15 lbs
Colby is an adorable baby whose pictures don't begin to do him justice. He is a loving, eager, playful little boy who just wants to spend all of his time on your lap and giving kisses.
Colby has never been abused and has only known love but he was adopted by a family who was not prepared for training a rambunctious pup. Colby was given up to the shelter because he bit when he got ahold of a piece of candy and his owner was trying to get it out of his mouth. Colby is not a biter but he is a mouthy puppy and he needs a home with dog experience. In addition, Colby will only go to a home that is willing to take him to training classes.
Colby is fairly good on his house breaking- not perfect but mostly there. He tends to jump up on people and needs training on that as well as other dog manners. He does OK on lead and loves to ride in the car. He is crate trained and gets along well with other dogs. He has lived with children but because of his jumping and his history will not be placed in a home with small kids. He would love a yard and needs exercise.
Colby offers a
wonderful opportunity. The family that is willing to put a little work
into puppy training will have a true jewel as this wonderful loving pup turns
into the incredible loyal
loving dog he is meant to be.
Colby new family was delighted to
have another cocker join their family, he has cocker experienced parents, and
a new sister to romp with, residing in Bellingham, WA

(Adopted June 16/06)
Rat Terrier
Male/neutered/shots current
App. 1.5- 2 years old
19 lbs
Jack is a loving laid back boy. He loves being as close to you as he can, sleeping by your feet curled up in his dog bed. He comes and puts his paws on your lap and gazes into your eyes with his soft brown eyes, begging for scratches, pets, and attention. He loves to be outside but comes tearing into the house to get his doggy treats when called.
Jack's story is one of those times when "rescue" almost isn't a rescue. He was shipped to us by plane from California. He was rescued from a shelter down there, went into a rescue that was closed down, and was taken in by another rescue that was totally overloaded with dogs. By the time Jack got to us he was skin and bones, with fleas and ticks and giardia. He was treated with antibiotics, anti-diarhea meds, flea'd, wormed, and most of all fed. For a week I didn't think he would ever stop eating! Now he eats his bowl of kibble and sometimes a couple of snacks but has finally realized that the food will not disappear. He has even put on some weight so his ribs and backbone don't stand out.
Jack has all of the qualities that make people love rat terriers. He is very loyal to his person. He is active outside but settles well in the house. He would love to go for walks or to garden with you and loves car rides. He does well while I am at work and appears to be fairly well house- trained. He gets along OK with other dogs but his real love is for his person. Jack will be an awesome loyal companion to the person lucky enough to welcome him into their home.
Jack is
now living a life, that he certainly deserved, a Mom who works from home, so he
is never alone and a Dad to play with...residing in Seattle, WA
(Dicky is no longer available, foster home
felt it was best for him to stay in long term care, since his health is not
good)
With deep sorrow, Dicky passed to the bridge July 15/06
Dicky
Pomeranian
neutered male
5 pounds
8 inches
12 1/2 years young
Dicky
belonged to an older couple who could no longer care for their little friend due
to their own health. Dicky is housebroken, gets along with cats, dogs, men,
women and tolerates children. He knows sit, lay down and is quiet and well
behaved. Taking a good long sleep most of the day is his favorite occupation
with an occasional venture out thru the doggy door to relieve himself. Dicky has
a good appetite and will dance for healthy treats.
When
he came to us, Dicky was strange looking. His head and legs were covered with
dense, beautiful fur but his body was almost totally naked, only a few scraggly
strands of long hair here and there over his body. Extensive tests preformed
determined that Dicky suffers from Cushing's Disease, a disorder of the adrenal
glands. He needs medication two times a week for this condition and also needs a
small amount of thyroid medication twice a day. These both of these medications
will be required for the rest of his life.
Dicky
would do best in an adult home, perhaps with another quiet older dog. He loves
to lay curled up in a soft doggy bed, sleeping most of his day. Dicky will
permit people to hold him but he is not a true cuddler, he will come to join you
for a treat or a short snooze but lap dog he is not. He’s an independent
little fellow. His fur is slowly growing back but there is no way to know if it
will ever return as full as the rest of him, but Dicky is very happy wearing a
sweater or small jacket on cooler days. He enjoys short walks and almost prances
when he is on a leash.
If
you can provide stability and love, please consider this sweet little dog.

(Adopted June 25/06)
AJ
Dachshund
Male/neutered/shots current
17 lbs
App. 13 years young
AJ was the devoted companion since a puppy to his Dad, in the last few years Dad
became very sick, AJ always gave him a reason to smile. For two weeks
while his Dad was dying, AJ would not leave his side, slept on his bed, only
leaving to potty or eat, otherwise he never left his beloved Dad. Losing
his Dad has been very hard on this devoted boy.....
AJ is hoping to belong once again to someone, who he will show his love again
to, it may not be for a really long time, but this boy deserves another chance,
he gave unconditionally to his Dad, can someone give unconditionally to him.
AJ is housetrained, loves walks, and loves to sleep with his person.
We were pleasantly surprised at the number of people who wanted to open their
heart to this boy, and one lady was extraordinary in her request...we thank you
Anne for helping this older Furbaby another chance at love. Residing in
Sea Tac, WA

Fiona
Chihuahua
Female/spayed/shots current
6 lbs
Fiona is a sweet and loving 1 yr old Chihuahua. She gave birth via caesarian section to her puppies when she was only 10 months of age... and although she did her best to be a good momma dog, she is really only a pup herself. She loves other dogs of all sizes-especially other Chi and does well with cats. She loves to play with toys and is truly obsessed with Kong's! She enjoys being fed and given treats in her Kong's... keeps her busy! As with all Chi she loves sleeping under the covers with you in the bed. At her foster home she uses her doggie door but if the door was not available she will always use her wee-pad. She is very social with strangers and enjoys meeting new people.
She has quite an overbite... and appears to have the longest tongue ever! She loves to give kisses! Fiona knows her basic commands like sit, come and wait... but is still learning down, stand and a trick or two. She would benefit from a positive reinforcement training class.
Fiona is currently
living in a foster home with other Chi and would prefer a forever home with another
dog if possible.
Fiona has a new brother Chi mix, a cat to harass, and parents who think she is
perfect. Residing in Lynden, WA
Below are Fiona's babies,
