Dieter is a nice little dog who desperately needs his own person. True to doxie
attitude he needs his "own" person. He is housebroken, shares
well and likes to play with foster Mom. He does not play with toys, but I think
he could be persuaded. Loves walks. He is slightly nervous...especially when
changing routine or when we do something out of the ordinary - which we kind of
do everyday...new trail or walk or ride. Once his security builds he does much
better. He has a lot of energy and would be great with someone home to take him
for walks although he does not destroy anything when left or complain either but
he would love someone home a lot. He will make an adjustment when he finds
his own forever place and is filled with love just for him.
Dieter has a loving home with Greta, and his new sister Doxie, residing in
Renton, WA
(Adopted March 12/06)
Darby
Miniature Poodle
Male/neutered/shots current
8 months old
14 lbs
I was found lonely, starving and scared. The shelter picked me up and I
did not do well there, they even though I was a Lhasa mix, well from my before
picture I was such a mess, hard to tell what I was. In the beginning I
used to only want to be outside, cause it was the only world I knew. I
also was so afraid I would not get enough to eat, and would grr at the other
dogs, I still do at times, I am getting better, cause I getting to understand I
will not starve again. In the first days, you would find me curled
into a tiny ball next to the food dishes, so worried they may disappear from me,
and than I would be so hungry again. Today, well I don't want to be
outside, unless I am running and chasing the birds, and I run inside with glee,
right ontop of the couch, or right into your arms. I am happy now, I love
toys, I love chews, I love people. I do need work on housetraining (well I
never knew what a house was)..My first very important months of life have been
terrible, so I am looking for a home that will give me lots of love and devotion
for the rest of my years.
Darby has turned into an awesome lil boy. He is happy, outgoing, very playful, extremely
loving.
Darby is a very lucky lil boy, he has two adoring, loving Moms, who love this
boy unconditionally, residing in Seattle, WA
(Adopted March 16/06)
Minnie Moon (nka Miranda)
Yorkshire Terrier
Female/spayed/shots current
4.4 lbs
Will be 9 years in May/06
They found me cuddled so closely to my Mom, who hours before had died, God had
called her, and she will wait for me at the Bridge. I miss my Mom so much,
I was her total love baby. I am sweet, pocket sized lil girl, who only
wants to be with you, and be loved by you.
When I was four years old I lost all of my teeth, my Mom did not know about
proper care at that time, and feed me junk. She learned the hard way, the
mistakes she made, so yes my tongue hangs out of my mouth, but I am used to it,
it really only adds to my character.
Now I need to find another Mom, or even a Dad, someone who loves to walk around
carrying me, but I do go for walks, but cause I am so tiny and cute everyone
just carries me.
I never lived with other dogs, but I do not have any problem with them, I have
enough confidence as a lil terrier to grr if they bug me too much. I will
chase a cat, but I think most cats think I am a big mouse...so I really don't
frighten them, and heck what would I do if I did corner a cat...
My Mommy Alice would look down from heaven and thank the right home that will
love me again...I am just so sad, I am just glad that my Mommy is no longer in
pain.
Alice will be very pleased, Minnie got a new Mom who adores her, residing in
Deming, WA
(Adopted Mar. 23/06)

*adorable Pot roast passed away Nov.21/17
from kidney failure, he will be so missed*
Spike is a confident lil boy, full of energy and fun. He loves toys, loves
walks, likes to play with the foster dogs, but can get jealous, and has no
problem letting or trying to tell other dogs he likes to be in charge. He
does well with both men and women.
He is a great dog, and will do well in a terrier experienced home.
Adult home ONLY
Spike has two wonderful young parents, who will take him for walks, hikes and
cuddles at the end of the day. Residing in Port Coquitlam, B.C.
Two years later 2008, Spike's parents got married, and he looked wonderful in

Tawney
is a gutsy little girl who wants to be as close to her person as she can get.
She is a cute as they get and has been someone’s princess who always gets her
own way.
Even
though she is part
Tawney
would do best with a doxie knowledgeable person to
understand her nature and continue her socialization. She is beginning to be
interested in playing with other dogs and would love to have a doxie
playmate. Tawney still needs a bit of work on her
house training but is learning to run out with
the other dogs to do her business.
Adult home only
Tawney got the perfect
home, with another young doxie to romp with, and a family who adores her...thank
you Alisa for providing a great home for her, residing in Federal Way, WA
(Adopted March 17/06)
Chihuahua
Female/spayed
8 months old
8 lbs
Well this special lil girl never made it to my adoption page, I took her to the
vet for spaying and she never came home. I had a fabulous young lady
who is a vet tech there looking for a special girl just like her, and when she
meet her, she knew this was the one. And I could not be happier for her, a
fabulous home for a wonderful dollbaby. As you can see in the one picture,
the staff at Kulshan, gave Dana (the new
Mom) a puppyshower, not sure how happy Keely was trying on all her new
outfits:-)
Residing in Blaine, WA
(Adopted March 31/06)
Pomeranian/Pekinese

*sweet Wookie passed to the bridge March
9/2017*
Wookie
is a cutie just full of personality. He is Martini's
father and is the leader of the two. He is an adventurer and is always
exploring. His expressive little face watches everything going on around him. He
hates being closed out of anywhere and spends his time trying to figure out how
to get in. He is very independent but has finally learned to come up and ask for
pets. He stands on his back legs and waves his paws to be picked up and petted.
Wookie has a very special new home..
(Adopted Mar.31/06)
Stanley
Yorkie/Cairn ?
Male/neutered/shots current
10 lbs
2.5 years old
I was found on the side of the road after I had been hit by a car. I
was homed with an elderly lady, who found me a bit too energetic for her.
Finally I went to live with a great home, but my Dad is now terminally ill. Now
I need my very own FOREVER home, and yet all through this I stay loving, happy
and sweet. I walked into foster care, full of confidence and
zest. I like other dogs, cats unknown. Seem equally happy with men
and women. I am a fun loving lil fellow who deserves happiness.
Since my accident, I have a bad back leg, it really does not hinder me from
running, walking and playing. I just cannot jump up on couches or beds,
you will have to help me...stairs are fine. You will love me, I am a
sweetheart.
Lucky lil Stanley, well he got a loving Mom, a super older teen daughter, who
dote on his every whim, he loves his walks, he now has all that he ever wanted,
true love...residing in Vancouver, B.C. Canada
(Adopted April 11/06)
Ciara (nka Sara)
She could be a
Daug (Dachshund/pug)
Female (spay date April 4/06)
App. 2 years old
10 lbs
*Sweet Sara went to join her Daddy at the
bridge Oct/16, sadly cancer took her life*
As much as I tried to capture the real Ciara, the camera did not oblige..she
looks like a puppy who has not grown up, her beguiling face, her puppy eyes, all
wrap her into your heart very quickly. If you want a dog, who will forever
look like a puppy, she is it.
She is not available for a forever home till after April 4..when she will be
spayed, shots and microchipped. She was flown in from CA because she was
running out of time, the shelters there as here are overflowing...this sweet
beguiling girl deserved another chance at a wonderful home.
She was so starved when she arrived into our care, she still eats so much for
such a small gal, afraid she will again be deprived of food..
So far she is playful, is your constant companion, to date she is a kind hearted
lil girl.
Fairy tales do come true, a lil girl who if left in CA would have lost her life,
and now here, happily residing with very dear friends of ours, loved and
spoiled...
Dear John and Brenda...thank you, for opening your home, heart and life to this
lil girl, and also to Kioshi (nka Bandit)..residing in Ferndale, WA
(Adopted April 16/06)
Cookie
Bearded Collie X
Female/spayed/shots current
4 months old
27 lbs (today)
Ok, so she
ISN'T
a small breed dog, but she is
adorable isn't she? Cookie had no place to go, she also came from CA, and
the rescue was praying for us to help. Once meeting Cookie it was clear, why
everyone wanted to help her, she is just the sweetest, endearing (now lil)
girl. She just wants to love you, give you kisses, and her tail never
stops wagging. So if you are looking for a little larger dog, you will
never regret adopting her. The vet's guess is she will be about 50 lbs,
when she reaches adulthood. As for her breed, everyone who has met her,
vet, groomer and others, believe she is a bearded collie mix...her coat is soft
and gorgeous, and will be astounding as an adult.
Cookie has a great new home in Seattle, WA
(Adopted April 22/06)
Standard Dachshund X
Male/neutered/shots current
1.5 years old
18 lbs
Dino likes to follow the foster Mom everywhere. He likes walks, sleeping in the
people bed . He is interested in toys, but seems like he needs to be taught
about having fun with them..He does not appear to know any commands. He is
a bit shy with new
people but warms up easily. He is playful and a nice lil dog.
Dino like to go ...car rides, whatever.
He takes treats very gently and would be a fine companion - he would bond
quickly. He gets along fine with the resident doxies and lets them tell him to
back off without any argument from him.
Dino has a new Mom and Dad, and a cat to play with, residing in Blaine, WA
Adopted May27/06
Maizy is a 4 month old Shih
Tzu/Pom.
She is BLIND and DEAF. After a few days in my care, she had a seizure, the
future appeared grim for her, but an angel was looking out for her, and a
wonderful lady ,Nancy wanted to love and take care of her...this baby may have a
lifetime, or the seizures may take her life...but I want the world to see, that
a baby as precious as her, deserves whatever we can give her. Please say a
prayer for this special baby. Residing in Blaine, WA
Maizy had a wonderful life, but she was not destined to live in this world
long. The seizures became uncontrollable, and finally she crossed the
bridge in Dec./07
