JJ and Foxy
Lhasa Apso and Pomeranian
JJ (male neutered) 11 years old/17 lbs
Foxy (female/spayed) 7years old/18 lbs

*with great sadness, cancer took JJ's life in Jan/17*

Hi!  I’m Foxy the Pomeranian and this is my very best buddy, JJ the Lhasa Apso!  That’s us in the picture with our Momma!  That’s me on the right!  Our Momma is very sick right now and she is in hospice care.  We were very sad about that but she is hurting and has something called Dementia and she doesn’t remember who we are anymore so our Momma’s niece made sure that we went into Furbaby Rescue right away!  We are enjoying our time in foster care now, but we didn’t know what to do with ourselves at first.  You see, we spent our whole, entire lives with our Momma and now we’re in a new place with a new yard and some other doggies and a CAT!  A cat, I SAY!  We love to chase the cat and bark and bark and chase and chase, so you probably don’t want to have a cat unless you, very specifically, want us to do exactly those things!  bol (bark out loud)!  Snort!

JJ is a little bit older than I am and I am very protective of him.  I always need to know where he is and vice versa.  JJ is a little hard of hearing and his eyes are beginning to get just a little bit cloudy, so a new home without stairs would be perfect for us.  I, myself, would love a doggy door to a fenced in back yard because I am a very smart girl and I’m just independent enough to be able to go outside all on my own!  JJ is my bestest friend in the whole wide world, so we need to find a home who will love both of us equally!  We are both very healthy and recently had full heath exams and even dental work!

We promise to be the best dogs and we really want to meet you!

Wiggles and kisses,

Foxy and JJ

Bentley
Terrier/poodle ?
Male/neutered/shots current
5 years old
17 lbs

Here is Bentley  He's a very unique looking lil fellow with a great personality, ton of charm and smarts!  He's about 5 y/o and we think a Poodle/Terrier mix so will need grooming from time-to-time.  He's up-to-date on vaccines, had a dental (no extractions), neutered and microchipped and house-trained. He's tall at 15.5" at the shoulder and can almost leap small buildings in a single bound.  His latest discoveries are balls and toys.  He'll take a stuffed toy and bait one of the other dogs to play tug-of-war with it.  This boy lives life with great happiness, loves to snuggle under the covers at night and of course back and tummy scratches are relished any time.  He's lived with cats so they're not an issue.

If you're looking for an eager and active dog, Bentley is your guy!

Bentley is residing in Renton, WA

(Adopted Nov.21/15)
Sadie
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix
Female/spayed/shots current
8 years old
16 lbs

Right now I’m Sad Sadie because my mom died. I miss her so much. Then I got put into a shelter because no one wanted me after Mom passed on and that added fear to my sadness. Now that I’m in Furbaby Rescue I’m feeling there’s some hope. Foster mom took me to the vet and I had a full dental procedure, checkup, and shots. If I was at MacDonald’s they’d call it the full meal deal but in my case it’s just that I’ve had all of my health needs taken care of so I can have a fresh start in the best condition in a new forever home.

Foster mom reported that I do well with other dogs and I’m “oozing in sweetness.” That’s because I was loved totally by my first mom. I like to be by my human and follow them everywhere but right now I only have a temporary human to stay near. I’ll feel complete again when I know someone wants to have me forever and ever. I love lap sitting and cuddling. I have excellent “go outside to do it” habits. I had to be cut right down as I was a mess, so my fur will grow out again, please just gaze into my eyes and recognize a very sweet and devoted soul waiting to be loved again.. I’m saying my doggy prayers for someone who will be around the majority of the time to keep me company.

If you have other questions, please contact my foster mom or better yet, just fill out the application and come get me……puleeeeeze.

(Adopted Dec.19/15)
Marley
Papillion
Male/neutered/shots current
12 lbs
11 years old

Here's Marley!  He's a Moth-eared Papillon, also known as a Phalene, 12 pounds of soft fluffy fur and a bent for being with you!  He loves to sleep next to you but he's too small to climb the stairs to the bed so he has to be lifted up and down.  If you forget to take him with you he'll let you know with a bark surprisingly deep for a little guy.  His birthday was in July and he turned 11 years old.  If you Google "Phalene" you'll see what he'd look like with a long coat.  He's been kept clippered short for ease of care.

He's neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and house-trained! Marley had a dental in Sept and his teeth are great.  He's been "cat tested" with my friend's cat and passed with flying colors!  He's just not interested!  However if the cat chooses to run, he might give chase as rapid movement triggers dogs' "prey-drive" instincts.

Marley keeps amazing me as he works at trying to communicate.  I can't always "get" what he wants so if he barks at me I tell him "show me" and see where he leads me.

He's sweet as he can be and a mellow guy.  He's quite content to snooze any time but when things are busy, he doesn't want to miss anything.  He gets along well with the other dogs in my household.

Fitch and Rocko
Maltese/Shih Tzu
Males/neutered/shots current
9 & 7 years old
11 & 7 lbs

Fitch and Rocko are in one word ADORABLE.  Don’t let our age fool you, we act like puppies.  Fitch is a Maltese/Shih Tzu, and Rocko is his son, whose Mom is Maltese, Rocko is all Maltese, in looks and in personality.  Both are extremely loving and happy boys.  Fitch loves to run, chase, play, and Rocko, he is a lap baby, loves to be doted on by his person. They do well with other dogs, love men and women, but are not used to small children, so an adult only home is best for these babies.  They have been pee pad trained, in my home, I only have them go outside.

Fitch is such a character, curious, outgoing and fun…and Rocko is a loving, kind and sensitive lil fellow.  I was told he was shy, but he became our best friends in minutes…they will bring, love, laughter and joy to your home.

Abby
Yorkshire Terrier
Female/spayed/shots current
2 years old
7 lbs

Dear Abby,

I would like some help and direction in finding the cutest little companion ever that I can give a “furever” home to.    Can you help?

Response from Abby:

I think I may fit your needs.  I am a 2 year old Yorkie weighing in at a mere 7 lbs. My foster mom says I love love love  to cuddle up on her lap, follow her around the house, and I really like to snuggle under a cover with her at night in bed.  I can also sleep in my bed if I have to.  I have been on a car ride with her and its ok just kind of scary, as long as I have someone to snuggle I relax quite quickly.  I always go out wih her when she wants me to go outside to do my business, but when she hasn’t been right there I did use the pee pad she put down for me.  I am pretty young so I still need some direction with this and I think I will learn the routine quickly.  I love putting on my pretty harness and leash and going for a walk,  and like the potty issues I could use more time with this.  Hey maybe we can take a class together so we can learn together.

I have been really great at meeting new people although sometimes I am a little shy.  I really like my foster mom, but I get really excited when the men in the house come around, I get all bouncy and happy.  I also love some squeaky toys.  There are other furkids in my foster home and they are really nice to me and we get along just great.  There is one in particular that I really really like and want to snuggle with her, but we are just starting to get to know each.

I can be left home alone and don’t misbehave but I am oh so ever happy when the people come home.  I love to jump in their laps and give them loves, kisses and snuggles.  My foster mom is trying to get me to stop kissing because I didn’t know some people don’t like that.  So Im trying…..

We made a trip to the vet and I got all current on my shots, microchipped and a clean bill of health just some minor itchiness in my ears.  The vet put some medicine in them and said I was good to go.  Maybe, if you are my new parent we can go get them checked and I can meet my new doctor when I need to go.  It was a little scary there, but they said I was a really good girl.  I didn’t even make a peep when they gave me the shots and was microchipped.

So….I look forward to your response and see if that meets your need?

BUDDY: "Hey, Saylor!!! Wake up!!!! It’s 2016!!! It’s a New Year and the beginning of a new life for us!!!!”

SAYLOR:  “Huh??? Uhh??  Huh??? Did I sleep through all of the festivities? Oh, that’s right. We had that very long, v-e-r-y l-o-n-g talk last night about what we need to be the best dogs ever and to get the best home which we deserve.”

BUDDY: "Yes, Saylor, you got it right. We are “designer breed” pups and we cost a lot…. but now we need to move on.“

SAYLOR:  “Yeah, we could have had six years worth of top quality dog food for what those people paid for us and……..”

BUDDY:  “SAYLOR!!!!! Stop interrupting me and put that uppity talk behind you about how much our first owners paid for us!!! If people are curious, they can look up our breed and see for themselves. We agreed that as of today, we’d have nothing but positive thoughts, and start fresh as of this morning. Remember? We agreed that while we’d like to be adopted together we know we are intelligent enough and strong enough that we could be adopted separately. We’re so smart that we could have our own cell phones and text each other and stay in touch that way. Hah!!!! Can’t you see it now if we asked our new humans for cell phones?”

SAYLOR: "Yeah, that would be a priceless photo to take which shows the expression on their faces when we ask for cell phones. Of course, being two puppies….I mean two guys who have been together since birth, I’d still love to stay together but sometimes things happen where that’s not possible.  Now let’s see….we also agreed that we’d LOVE to have a human who insisted that we attend puppy kindergarten classes, and then obedience classes and maybe, if we’re lucky, we’d even be offered to take agility courses. I would be awesome at that!!!”

BUDDY: "Yeah, me too. Catching frisbees, running between posts and through tunnels. What fun!!! And we’d be naturals at it.”

SAYLOR:  Yawn!!!! “I’m tired already just thinking about it."

BUDDY:  “That’s the idea, Saylor. Just like humans, we need exercise. We’re still puppies so we need to learn the puppy etiquette in the obedience classes so people praise us to our owners. Then they’d be so proud of us that they’d wonder what else we could do and then maybe they’d take us to other classes. Or at least maybe we could go for runs every day and watch all the other envious people tell our owners what gorgeous and well behaved guys we are.”

SAYLOR: “Yeah, and when we’re done with all the activities and classes perhaps we’ll have an abundance of toys to play with before we collapse in our crates for a nap."

BUDDY:  “Hey Saylor”….

SAYLOR:  “Yeah….yeah….yea…..yawn……. "

BUDDY:  I think we could also start by improving our language skills by not using “Yeah” in every sentence. Saylor???? Saylor???? Did you hear me????

SAYLOR: "Y-e-a-h……..zzzzzzzz"

BUDDY:  “I think this discussion is over at least as far as including Saylor. In a nutshell folks, we are two very young dogs (basically still puppies) who can be adopted together or separately. We are seeking an active owner or family. It’s Furbaby Rescue’s policy of no young children in the home so keep that in mind. With obedience classes which actually every dog can benefit from, we’d be super duper dogs to own. Our foster mom will happily give you further details about other areas of our life if you’re interested. Someone in the rescue can even recommend the best obedience classes in your area if you’d like their input on that.”

SAYLOR:  “I heard all of that Buddy and I agree. I’m ready to start this year out right with a new home, classes, and making people so proud of me or us. When can we get started?”
